Wow, I cannot believe that already a whole week has passed since our Yoga retreat in Sardinia. It was simply incredible and truly, truly magical. I am not using this word lightly - I really felt that magic was happening during these days on the island.
We were doing yoga twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. We were surrounded by the bluest water imaginable and lucky enough to swim in the sea every day. And while the yoga and sun nourished our souls, our bodies enjoyed the most delicious, freshly cooked meals. There is something very special about Italian food. It is so rich and healthy, so full of color and taste and we enjoyed every bite.
But maybe the biggest magic came from the people who joined us. We had a fantastic group of people from all walks of life. We had people from Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and Georgia joining. Not only did we all have the same kind of humor which made sure that we were laughing all the time but there was also so much support, kindness and a feeling of inclusiveness and belonging which made the retreat unforgettable for all.
It is a true blessing to meet so many incredible, inspirational people with such different backgrounds and see them getting along so well, supporting each other, sweating their butts off on the mat and dancing their heart out in the night. Sometimes during the retreat, I almost had to pinch myself to know that this was really happening. I had been dreaming of teaching a yoga retreat at the sea for many years and now that it finally came true it honestly was even better than I could ever have imagined.
I have to say a big thank you to the fabulous Greta, who organized the retreat with me. Well she actually took over the lion part of the organization and she has done an incredible job.
Greta and I met each other when we were both studying at university in Holland. After we graduated our ways had parted and we lost touch. Then last year me and a couple of friends went to Bolzano, a city in Südtirol. It was really cold and we had already tried three different restaurants which were all full when we entered our fourth try and found ourselves being seated right next to Greta and her boyfriend Max. It was such an incredible coincidence! After that we both discovered that by now we were both super into yoga and that`s how the idea for our yoga retreat in Sardinia was born. And the rest, of course, is history...
Greta and me are already thinking about organizing another retreat next year in September again. We will keep you updated about the new dates. If you are interested in joining you can already let us know via mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
